April - Bicycle Safety Rodeo A Bicycle Safety Rodeo offers children a chance to learn how to correct the behaviors that have been shown to cause accidents. In drills like the "Demon Driveway" and "Crazy Crossroads", children learn how to apply the rules of "right-of-way" to prevent the chance for collisions. The BCO stages a fantastic Bike Rodeo every year in Fayetteville. Dozens of volunteers work one-on-one with young cyclists. The kids learn the rules of the road, safe driveway pull-out, proper right-of-way etiquette at busy intersections, non-swerve checks for over-taking traffic, safe obstacle dodging and more. Each year, the volunteers, including the mechanics from the local Highroller Cyclery fit new helmets and perform a bicycle safety check. |
