The Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning staff is taking bicyclist input on the Regional Transportation Plan. You can view NWAR maps on-line and make comments by email.

Under the heading "Off-Road and On-Road Trail Maps" are listed 3 maps of NW Arkansas.
These 1-4MB files and are very useful for making input to the Regional Planning Commission.
The first map on the list NW Arkansas Present and Proposed Trail System shows currently proposed bike routes and trails in the 2-county area. Notice the lack of proposed bike routes everywhere outside of Fayetteville. These governments need your input. The Second two maps are basically the individual county areas enlarged, and without proposed or current bike facilities shown. These download a bit faster. If you have a suggestion for a Bike Route location, prepare an email with this info:

That's it. You will then have made a significant difference in Regional Planning's understanding of where cyclists need signage, lanes and shared-lane markings.
